FTC Consumer Alert: Identity Theft Statistics for 2024 Now Available 

The FTC's Consumer Sentinel Network has released its 2024 Data Book, and scams and identity theft continue to be the most reported types of fraud, with over 6.5 million incidents. Identity theft remains a top-three fraud category. While government benefits fraud has seen a significant decrease of over 30% in the past year, identity theft related to insurance has risen by almost 40%.
